Located in Prince George, British Columbia, YMCA Camp Kanannaq is nestled between some of the most beautiful landscapes in Canada. Campers don’t have to look far to find the beauty in the natural world around them. Camp Kanannaq has participated in the Summer Camp Bondar Challenge for 3 years. With endless options, we are excited to see what campers will choose to photograph at this beautiful northern British Columbia camp.
From Camp Kanannaq:
“YMCA Camp Kanannaq has has been participating in the Bondar Challenge for three summers with children aged 10-15. YMCA Camp Kanannaq campers participate in the Bondar Challenge at camp, but also on outtrips to beautiful places such as Mount Robson and the Bowron Lakes. Our team finds that focusing in on nature with a camera really makes youth take their time to notice and appreciate Nature’s value.
This program has developed our campers’ photography skills by always keeping participants interested, mostly because they have access to technology they otherwise wouldn’t have. The Bondar Challenge allows campers to slow down from their usual fast pace and really connect with nature — what camp is all about! It has been great to watch the campers connect with their environment and to see camp through their lenses!”
